Terms of Service
Version 2.1 — July 2026. Provisional bounded-launch policy — pending exact attorney sign-off.
Status: Provisional bounded-launch policy — pending exact attorney sign-off. Last updated: July 12, 2026
These Terms are limited to Camino's bounded individual-pay launch. They are not final attorney approval and do not authorize customer-scale, institutional, sponsored, or research activity.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Camino Institute website at camino.to and the Camino application under camino.to/app (collectively, the "Platform"), operated by Camino Institute, LLC ("Camino Institute," "we," "our"), a Texas limited liability company.
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
The Platform is currently in a pilot phase with a participant cap. We may close enrollment at our discretion when the cap is reached.
2. Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@camino.to if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may not:
- Create accounts on behalf of others.
- Use another person's account without their explicit permission.
- Provide false information when creating your account.
- Share your account access with others.
3. Programs, Pricing, and Payment
The Platform offers two programs and one add-on:
3.1 Programs
- Camino Lumen™ — a 13-reflection self-paced AI-guided program. $97 one-time.
- Lexica™ — a 21-day language-transformation sprint. $197 one-time. Lexica requires completion of Camino Lumen™. You may purchase Lexica before completing Lumen via the package-deal path described in Section 3.3, but you cannot enter Lexica content until Camino Lumen™ is complete.
3.2 Coaching sessions (add-on)
You may purchase one or more 45-minute coaching sessions with a Camino Coach at any time during Camino Lumen™ or Lexica™. All Camino Coaches are licensed providers; coaching itself is not a separate regulated credential. Each coaching session is $197. There is no upper limit on the number of coaching sessions you may purchase across either program.
For Lexica™ participants, we recommend three coaching sessions across the 21-day arc, but this is a recommendation, not a requirement. You are not required to purchase any coaching sessions.
For Camino Lumen™ participants, coaching sessions are available on demand without a recommended count.
Coaching session scheduling occurs outside the Platform and is coordinated directly with Camino Institute. The Platform tracks your purchased, scheduled, and completed sessions for clinical recordkeeping.
3.3 Package deal (Path B)
You may purchase Camino Lumen™ + Lexica™ together in a single checkout for $294 ($97 + $197, no discount). When you purchase the package deal:
- Both programs are billed at full price in one Stripe transaction.
- Camino Lumen™ becomes available immediately.
- Lexica™ remains locked until you complete Camino Lumen™. When Lumen completes, Lexica unlocks automatically.
You may also purchase coaching sessions for either or both programs in the same package-deal checkout.
3.4 Payment processing
All payments are processed by Stripe. Camino Institute does not store your credit card number, banking information, or any other payment instrument. Stripe's terms and privacy policy apply to your payment data.
3.5 Final sale and bounded exceptions
All sales are final once access is granted. Camino Institute does not offer a satisfaction window or trial period for Camino Lumen™, Lexica™, the package, or coaching sessions. By completing checkout, you acknowledge that you reviewed the program description and confirm your purchase.
A refund or correction may be available when required by law, a duplicate charge, an erroneous charge, a technical failure that prevents access, or a discretionary operator exception. Contact support@camino.to so Camino can authenticate the request and review the payment record. Stripe is the payment, receipt, tax, refund, dispute, and payment-event system of record for this bounded launch.
For a package purchase or checkout containing more than one item, any refund, reversal, failed-payment review, or dispute affects only the matching line item, program access, or unused coaching credit. It does not erase the participant's account, unrelated program access, program records, or reflective content.
3.6 Coaching cancellations and no-shows
Any applicable rescheduling, cancellation, late-cancellation, or no-show window must be disclosed for the booking before it can apply. These Terms do not state a cancellation cutoff. An unpublished cutoff is not treated as accepted by the participant.
Under a disclosed booking window, a late cancellation or no-show may forfeit only the matching coaching credit unless applicable law requires otherwise or Camino grants an operator exception. If Camino Institute or the Camino Coach cancels, Camino will restore the matching credit, reschedule the session, or refund that line item as appropriate. Program access and unrelated coaching credits remain unchanged.
3.7 Failed payments
Access is not granted until payment succeeds and Camino records fulfillment through Stripe's signed webhook path. Failed or asynchronous-failed payments leave only the affected item unpaid and unfulfilled. Camino routes the issue to support without exposing payment details, and unrelated access and program content remain preserved.
4. Use of the Platform
You agree to use the Platform only for its intended purpose: personal reflection and self-development through Camino Lumen™ and Lexica™.
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to access, tamper with, or disrupt the Platform's systems or infrastructure.
- Reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute any part of the Platform's software, prompts, conversation designs, or assessment instruments.
- Provide false information when creating your account.
- Share your account access with others.
- Submit content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes on the rights of others.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Not a Clinical Service
Camino Lumen™ and Lexica™ are structured personal-development programs delivered through AI-guided reflection. They are not therapy, counseling, psychiatric treatment, or any form of licensed clinical service. The AI-guided conversations, your Personal Insight Snapshot™, your Close Document, and your assessment scores are reflective tools — they are not clinical assessments, diagnoses, or treatment plans.
Walter Calvo, LCSW, DBA, is the Co-Founder and Clinical Director of Camino Institute. He provides clinical oversight of the Platform — meaning:
- He reviews AI behavioral specifications and safety-boundary logic.
- He may review Layer 1 program-safety records asynchronously for oversight and documentation, but Camino does not promise real-time monitoring, same-day review, emergency intervention, guaranteed participant contact, or that Camino will keep you safe.
- He sets the clinical standards for Camino Coaches, all of whom are licensed providers, who deliver coaching sessions if you have purchased them.
Walter Calvo's role is clinical oversight, not clinical treatment. Participation in Camino Lumen™ or Lexica™ does not create a clinician-patient relationship between you and Walter Calvo, a Camino Coach, or Camino Institute. Coaching sessions are educational and developmental engagements, not licensed clinical care.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, thoughts of self-harm, symptoms requiring clinical attention, or imminent danger, contact outside support immediately. In the United States, call 911 for emergency response, go to the nearest emergency room, or call/text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. You should not wait for Platform safety mechanisms or any response from Camino.
6. Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you provide through the Platform, including your reflection responses, conversation content, and journal entries.
By using the Platform, you grant Camino Institute a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Process your content to deliver the program (including via AI infrastructure providers as disclosed in our Privacy Policy).
- Generate your Personal Insight Snapshot™ (Camino Lumen™) and your Close Document (Lexica™).
- Maintain memory records that enable continuity across your reflections.
- Apply Camino Pacing System calibration and vocabulary arc tracking during Lexica™.
- Maintain backups for disaster recovery.
This license does not permit Camino Institute to:
- Sell your content.
- Use your content for advertising.
- Share your content with third parties for their own purposes.
- Use your content for a research corpus, research queries, research analysis, research export, or research publication while the HOLD in Section 7 remains active.
This limited license continues only for program delivery, security, disaster recovery, and the data-class retention obligations described in the Privacy Policy. Cancellation does not trigger automatic deletion. Authenticated deletion requests follow the Privacy Policy's manual, logged review and disposition process.
7. Research Activity Is Inactive
Research activation remains on HOLD. The bounded launch does not offer research enrollment, accept research authorization, create a research corpus, run research queries or analyses, export research data, publish research findings, activate the Camino Transformation Index, or expand reassessment for research purposes.
Program access is not conditioned on research participation. A separate accepted activation record, approved protocol, approved participant authorization, and required Walter/counsel/privacy review must exist before any research activity can begin.
8. Intellectual Property

9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by Texas law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Camino Institute, its officers, employees, and contractors (including Walter Calvo, LCSW, DBA, in his capacity as Clinical Director) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform — including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, lost opportunities, or emotional or psychological impact — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Camino Institute in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (such as gross negligence, willful misconduct, or violations of statutory rights that cannot be waived).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Camino Institute, LLC, its officers, employees, contractors, and agents from any claim, loss, liability, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your misuse of the Platform.
- Your violation of any law or third-party right.
12. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Bexar County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
13. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify active users by email and update the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Platform after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to material changes, your remedy is to discontinue use of the Platform. The data-retention provisions in our Privacy Policy continue to apply to your data after you discontinue use.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its intent.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Camino Institute regarding your use of the bounded-launch Platform and supersede any prior agreements or understandings for that scope.
